Brad Paisley And His Wife Helped Donate 1 Million Meals To American Food Banks This Month

Earlier this year, country music star Brad Paisley and his wife, actor Kimberly Williams-Paisley, officially joined the team at the frozen meal brand Tiller & Hatch, alongside Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. Now, the celebrity couple and the company they represent are teaming up to help fight hunger in the United States.

The Paisleys announced a plan to help donate 1 million meals to food banks across America during the month of September, which is known as Hunger Action Month. They called the drive the Million Meal Donation Tour.

“We’re on a mission to help those struggling with hunger, and due to the pandemic, it’s a real crisis,” the couple said in a joint statement. “More than 54 million people may experience food insecurity in 2020, including 18 million children.”

The movement kicked off in Detroit and New York City on Sept. 8 and traveled across the country in all directions. Overall, they hit food banks in 13 different states, including Arkansas, California, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas before the tour wrapped up in Chicago on Sept. 21.

This is not the first time the Paisleys have made a significant effort to help fight hunger in the United States. In 2018, the couple opened a food pantry in Nashville called The Store, where people can shop for free groceries in a way that resembles a typical grocery store. In March, The Store started delivering weekly food supplies to elderly residents in nearby neighborhoods. (Lopez and Rodriquez donated 2,000 meals to the space as well.)
