If we lived in a perfect world, doctors would always show up to your appointment on time, we would be able to take maternity leave without affecting our pay, and new dads could get off work for the same amount of time as new moms.
But, we do not live in such, so the paternity and maternity leave suck, and the healthcare in America is… the healthcare in America.
There are some double standards that exist in our world that grate on the nerves of people more intensely than others. For example, you have to put in two weeks notice at a job, but the employer can tell you ‘Bye’ to you at any moment, and that’s just the way it is. However, when women are shamed for being topless at a beach by men whose man-boobs are jiggling around, or GOD FORBID, breastfeeding their babies in public, the double standards can go and f*** themselves!
