Drew Barrymore wants to have another child despite being single, and she’s exploring all possible options? That’s what one of the tabloids is claiming. After looking into the story,
A headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer reads, “Divorced Drew Wants Third Child!” The accompanying article says the mother of two young daughters with ex-husband Will Kopelman is “particularly interested in having another girl.” According to an alleged “insider,” the actress has been “exploring both in vitro fertilization and adoption” to make that happen.
The supposed source goes on to say that Barrymore has sworn off getting hitched again as “she’s learned her lesson when it comes to marrying,” but that doesn’t mean she’s done with motherhood. “She’s over the moon about being a mom and would love to give her kids another sibling!” says the seemingly phony tipster.
“She wants to get cracking on adding to the family while her children are still young enough,” continues the suspicious insider, who further matins that Barrymore “has been off the dating scene since she and Will split up” in 2016. But source reached out to an individual in the actress’s camp, who tells us the story is “totally false.”
The magazine’s bogus report isn’t particularly convincing either. The outlet doesn’t bother to explain why the actress would pursue IVF before securing a donor or why all of Barrymore’s most recent interviews focus on how much she’s enjoying her time with her two kids. The actress hasn’t once mentioned expanding her family.
Meanwhile, it’s odd for the National Enquirer to be reporting that the actress has been strictly single since 2016 after its sister publication, Star, claimed in March that Barrymore was dating a famous mystery man. That story wasn’t true either, but it shows how the tabloid and its related outlets can’t keep their stories straight. Apparently, a successful woman focusing on her career and the kids she already has is just too difficult for the gossip media to understand.
It’s worth noting, a source called out another tabloid last year for wrongly reporting that Barrymore was pregnant with her third child. The actress still only has two children and she’s not planning for a third at this time. Also last year, NW, Star and RadarOnline all falsely asserted that Barrymore and Kristen Stewart became “lovers” after working together on the set of the Charlie’s Angel reboot.
The film had yet to go into production at the time those stories were published, and Barrymore is only executive producing the film, so it’s unclear how much time she spent on set once filming began. Basically, we’re not surprised that the tabloids are still failing to publish the truth.
