Texas man has been sentenced to 244 years in jail for r*ping his newborn baby while on hard drugs.

According to Waco Tribune-Herald, the 27-year-old Patricio Medina admitted to a fellow inmate that he assaulted his newborn daughter back in 2014.

The trial began on Tuesday, and the inmate testified against Medina. It ended with three 80 year sentences for him, as he was convicted of aggravated assault of a child younger than six on one count, two counts of injury to a child and two counts of endangering a child.

The police arrived on call to a home on Delano Avenue in Waco on March 14, 2014, after a report of physical abuse on a one-month-old baby. Medina admitted to the police that he had been using hard drugs two days earlier.

Medina told the police that he broke his daughter’s ribs, and when he got angry with the girl’s mother, he crushed the baby’s body against him.

A grand jury reindicated Medina on aggravated assault of a child in addition to the injury to a child charges.

He must serve the full 80 years on the first charge before he is eligible for parole, and the child’s mother, Lisa Montoya, was also charged with abandoning/endangering a child.

According to the testimony, she put the child in imminent danger by not reporting the abuse to the authorities.

The baby and her two siblings have been adopted by an unrelated family. The girl is now four and she’s doing ok.

In a prepared statement, the Assistant District Attorney Gabrielle Massey said:

“The jury’s verdict ensures that this toddler and all children will be safe from this predator for the next 80 years. Thanks to the work of CPS and Waco PD Crimes Against Children, the horrific first five weeks of this child’s life will not prevent her from having a safe and happy future.”
