Gigi Hadid, Lea Michele, and more to-be moms celebrated their Mother’s Day
For many to-be moms, their first Mother’s Day is an exciting event. Though baby has yet to arrive, many expecting celebrities still celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10th, by expressing their excitement to become a mom and by giving thanks to the women who raised them and taught them everything they need to know about motherhood.
Whether these celebs are expecting their first baby or their fifth, celebrating Mother’s Day as a pregnant to-be mother is absolutely something to post about. Gigi Hadid, Lea Michele, Ciara, Katy Perry, and others uploaded heartfelt (and sometimes hilarious) posts to their Instagram accounts to honor the holiday that they’ll now get to celebrate as moms for the rest of their lives.

Lea Michele
“The best Mother’s Day with the best mother in the world,” Lea Michelle captioned a Mother’s Day photo of herself, her mother, and her growing baby bump. “I love you mom.”
Michele is expecting her first child with her husband, Zandy Reich.
Gigi Hadid
Hadid just recently announced that she is expecting her first child with singer Zayn Malik. To celebrate her almost-first Mother’s Day, Hadid paid tribute to her own “superhero” mother, Yolanda.
“Best I could ever ask for,” Hadid captioned her Instagram post. “Happy Mother’s Day to the one I’ll do my best to emulate. I love you beyond words.”
And Yolanda Hadid posted a picture of her mother and children, captioning the post, “Motherhood is a privilege and the greatest blessing in my life. Thank you Gigi, Bella and Anwar for teaching me the true meaning of unconditional love and for igniting the deepest part of my soul…..”
With baby on the way, the generations continue to grow.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry’s soon-to-be daughter is already giving her mother attitude from inside the womb. Perry posted a video of a recent ultrasound in which her baby is flipping her off. She hilariously tagged the post #HappyMothersDayToMe.
She knows she and Orlando Bloom are in for it, as she wrote in the caption.
Katherine Schwarzenegger
Schwarzenegger, who is expecting a baby with actor Chris Pratt, shared on Instagram that her mother Maria Shriver made her want to “be a mama for as long as I can remember.”
“We are the luckiest 4 kids in the entire world to have you as our mama,” Schwarzenegger wrote in the caption of her Mother’s Day post. “I am so beyond blessed to learn from you…You mother not only us 4, but everyone you come in contact with.”
She says Shriver is “the Queen mother to all,” which is the compliment of a lifetime.
Hilaria Baldwin
Hilaria Baldwin is expecting a fifth child with husband Alec Baldwin, and celebrated her Mother’s Day by paying tribute her her tribe of kiddos. She captioned her pic, “Grateful,” with a string of heart emojis.
She also posted this photo of Alec mid-parenthood moment—a “perfect depiction of quarantine life,” as Hilaria wrote—and we’re laughing over how relatable this is.

Domino Kirke
Domino Kirke, who is expecting her first child with husband Penn Badgley, celebrated her Mother’s Day by posting a series of photos of her own mother, Lorraine.
Kirke, a professional “Birth Worker,” is already a mother to 11-year-old Cassius Riley, whom she had with musician Morgan O’Kane.
Ashlee Simpson
Simpson, already a mother of two, is expecting a bouncing baby with husband Evan Ross. She posted an Instagram picture of herself, sister Jessica, and mother Tina, captioning it, “You are my leader. Thank you for being such an amazing mom and Gigi.”
“Your instincts and flow of motherhood are serious goals,” Simpson continued. “I want to be around you all of the time, and so do my kids. Your love is infectious, and we are so lucky to have you.”
Jessica Simpson also posted a tribute to Tina, adding, “You are my very first love.”
Is it just us or does Tina look more like a third Simpson sister rather than their mother?
Ciara
Ciara is pregnant with her third child (her second with husband Russell Wilson), and her family rightfully treated her as a queen on Mother’s Day. The singer posted a video of how she was served breakfast in bed by son Future, and then was treated to a rose-filled bedroom.
The entire family hung out together all day and enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hot tub—the perfect end to a perfect day.
