FRIEND TO FOE: Lana Del Ray and Azealia Banks’ Twitter feud has steadily escalated to nasty personal attacks, after Del Ray confronted Kanye West
Banks attacked Del Ray’s addiction to plastic surgery
The feud between Lana Del Ray and Azealia Banks escalated beyond the scope of a casual disagreement and went straight to name-calling.
The feud started with Del Ray voicing her criticism against Kanye West’s aggressive support of Donald Trump. She wrote:
“I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism—none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country.”
She added, “If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the p**sy just because he’s famous then you need an intervention as much as he does—something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue. Message sent with concern that will never be addressed.”
Banks tweeted back, writing:
“Wow okay Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with A$AP Rocky who has physically assaulted women too. To me this just looks like the typical White woman taking using a weakened target to ‘pretend’ to be an ally. Especially because you know that a white woman vs a black male will result in an immediate victory for the white woman due to societal circumstances.”
She added that Del Ray shouldn’t “use Kanye for your own vapid attempts to seem politically aware.”
Not one to stay quiet, Del Ray wrote, “@shopcheapyxo u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t. I won’t not f**k you the f**k up. Period.”
She tweeted at her former friend:
“Banks. u coulda been the greatest female rapper alive but u blew it. Don’t take it out on the only person who had your back.”
Banks came in hard with her reply, writing, “First, we need her to call the surgeon who did her pointy Michael Jackson nose and ask for some kybella for those chicken patties!! Next we need her to head over to Instagram and invest in some @FlatTummyCo lollipops and a $20 waist trainer!”
Del Ray replied, “I’ll send you my surgeon’s number and a good psychiatrist I know in LA – your psych meds aren’t working #uneedanewcocktail”, to which Banks said, “The same one that got you hooked on oxy? No thanks sis…. you’re on your own with that. And of COURSE the white woman makes fun of mental health. Showing her truest colors! How’d that trump spell work out for ya sis??”
Banks currently has the last word in the feud, having said that she will be suing Del Ray.
