Lego Is Making A Baby Yoda Set

It may be hard to believe, but the holidays are just around the corner. If you have someone on your shopping list who loves Star Wars, Lego or both, you might want to scoop up the latest set from the construction block brand.

Lego recently announced its new Star Wars offering: A 1,073-piece construction set of The Child, also affectionately known as Baby Yoda, from the series “The Mandalorian.”

The first Lego Star Wars set came out in 1999, and there are currently dozens of Star Wars-inspired construction sets available from Lego, so the Child will be in good company.

The set, which is intended for builders ages 10 and up, produces a 7.8-inch model of The Child with a posable head, movable ears and an adjustable mouth so you can change his expression.

“The goal was to capture the charm, and above all, the cuteness of the character, so we worked meticulously, choosing and placing each and every brick,” Lego Star Wars design manager Michael Lee Stockwell said in a statement. “We even included authentic details like the gearstick knob — a favorite toy of The Child as seen in the series.”

Along with the gearstick knob, the set comes with an information plaque that states information such as The Child’s age and height. It also contains a mini figure of The Child for further Lego playtime fun.

Don’t rush out to buy it, though, as the set won’t be available until Oct. 30. However, you can preorder it now on the Lego website. It will also be available at Lego stores and other retailers where Lego sets are sold. The Child is $79.99, and you can currently preorder a maximum of two sets.

If you’re looking for a different pop-culture-related Lego set, you just might be able to buy a “Hocus Pocus” Lego set in the future. The set was designed to look like the Sanderson sisters’ house, and it features figures of the three witches, along with many other references to the movie.
