New Krispy Kreme Store Will Have A Giant Glaze Waterfall

If you love doughnuts — and I mean really love doughnuts — you may want to consider planning a trip to New York City to check out Krispy Kreme’s new flagship shop.

It’s not just another place to grab some delicious doughnuts (though there will be lots and lots of doughnuts). The 4,500-square-foot location will also have the world’s largest “Hot Light,” a huge glaze waterfall, a take-out window with doughnuts available 24 hours a day and a theater where visitors can watch the doughnut-making process.

Set to open on Sept. 15 in Times Square, the one-of-a-kind shop also has stadium-style seating inside a giant Krispy Kreme box, merchandise and a “Big Apple” doughnut exclusively available at that location.

The $11 Big Apple treat is filled with apple-flavored cream and coated with a shiny red icing.

Expected to serve more guests annually than any other Krispy Kreme location in the world, the opening had been scheduled for May but was pushed back due to the pandemic.

And since the news was first announced over a year ago, Krispy Kreme fans have been waiting a long time to see this fabulous doughnut hub come to life.

The new location is just one of eight Krispy Kreme shops in New York City and one of nearly 1,400 shops worldwide.

Even you can’t make it to New York to see the giant glaze waterfall for yourself, you can still get your hands on some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and merchandise.

The doughnuts themselves can be found in approximately 12,000 grocery and convenience stores nationwide. You can also buy merchandise from Krispy Kreme’s website, including mugs, clothing and accessories, and even collectibles like ornaments and a cozy doughnut-covered blanket.

If you do make it to New York City, you may want to check out another shop dedicated to a different treat: The Sour Patch Kids store!

The colorful store located at Bond Street and Broadway is filled with tons of candy and merchandise, plus photo opportunities, like the chance to pose with the Kids inside a full-size yellow taxi.

The store also has a mix station where you can make your own bag of Sour Patch Kids full of your favorite flavors, and a full menu of treats like smoothies, shakes and ice cream, made with, of course, Sour Patch Kids.
