A full schedule of all key dates in the 2020 presidential election: debates, primaries, conventions, and more.
Following Sen. Bernie Sanders’s decision to suspend his campaign for president, the Democratic primary is all but over. Former Vice President Joe Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee and challenger to President Donald Trump.
Though voters will now begin to turn toward the general election, a slate of presidential primary elections — which Trump and Biden are expected to sweep easily — are still scheduled to run through early July. State and local primaries will take place as late as September. After that, the Democratic and Republican conventions are scheduled for successive weeks in August (the Democratic convention was rescheduled from July). Lastly, Election Day itself will fall on November 3.
