Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have never been headed for a split over his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, despite the tabloids frequently pushing that phony storyline. Here are a few wrong rumors from this year alone.
A Source called out RadarOnline in January for falsely claiming Bieber and Baldwin’s wedding was on hold because of Gomez. The singer and the model were married at a New York City courthouse in September 2018 with the intention of having a larger ceremony sometime in 2019. While it’s true that the couple put their wedding plans on hold, the delay had nothing to do with Gomez.
The website, however, alleged that Bieber was calling off his wedding as a result of Gomez checking into a hospital for exhaustion. A supposed source told the outlet, “Justin feels terrible about Selena’s breakdown and he doesn’t want to send her over the edge by having a big A-list wedding.” That same “informant” claimed that Baldwin was angry about it because she believed “she should be Justin’s priority” and was “putting her foot down” about having a ceremony.
A source close to Bieber assured that the story was completely inaccurate. The truth is that the couple did have a date picked out, February 28, but were forced to postpone it due to family obligations. The spouses have since decided they’ll be having their ceremony “around the first anniversary” of their courthouse marriage in November, which was confirmed by People magazine.
In February, Source busted OK! for publishing a false cover story about Bieber and Baldwin getting “divorced after 139 days.” The story quoted a “source” who said that Baldwin pulled the “plug on her marriage to Justin after learning that he’s gone crawling back” to Gomez. The “insider” asserted that Baldwin “caught” her husband secretly meeting with Gomez and “realized that they rushed into marriage far too soon and that it’s not working.” As of this writing, the couple has been married for 333 days and are still planning their big wedding celebration later this year.
Source busted RadarOnline in May for posting a story about Baldwin catching Bieber texting Gomez. According to the blog’s anonymous source, Bieber “constantly” talked about Gomez, much to his wife’s annoyance. This supposedly culminated in Baldwin “exploding” at Bieber when she found texts from Gomez on his phone. Unsurprisingly, every facet of this story was totally false. Regardless of the glaring lack of details in the website’s story, we still consulted with Bieber’s spokesperson to clear up any falsehoods. The singer’s rep confirmed that the blog’s report was absolute nonsense.
And just last month, Life & Style tried to claim that Baldwin and Bieber were having “marital troubles” on account of the singer’s supposed hang-ups on Gomez. According to the magazine, Bieber was falling into “slumps” and struggling with thoughts of his ex. The premise was completely false, as evidenced by Bieber’s countless adoring posts on social media and the couple’s constant outings and trips together. source double-checked with Bieber’s camp, who told us that the spouses were “smitten” and that Bieber didn’t think of Gomez in a romantic way anymore.
