Halloween may be a few weeks away. But if you’re like most people, you started celebrating the ghoulish holiday as soon as the clock struck midnight on October 1. Creepy decorations adorn your home and your schedule is already booked solid with spooky plans. As for your Halloween costume choices, you planned those months in advance.
But don’t take your place among the walking dead by dying of thirst. For the entire month of October, Applebee’s is offering the frighteningly delicious Dollar Zombie drink to help adults get in the holiday spirit.
The Dollar Zombie, which is the restaurant’s Neighborhood Drink of the Month, is a 10-ounce blend of rum, pineapple, passion fruit, cherry and lime. But what really makes this zombie drink so tasty is the gummy brain that tops Applebee’s electric blue concoction. Mmmm … gummy brains.
Applebee’s Dollar Zombie is special for another reason, too: It’s the first time the chain crowdsourced its Drink of the Month. Restaurant-goers had a say in everything from the cocktail’s flavors and coloring to the type of garnish.
“Halloween is a favorite holiday around here, and we’re excited to offer guests the opportunity to celebrate all month long with our new Dollar Zombie,” Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s, said in a statement. “We invite people to get into the spirit early by trying our Neighborhood Drink with an infectious taste. The only thing to fear this Halloween is missing out on this awesome drink.”
The Dollar Zombie is available at most Applebee’s locations. But due to different laws and legalities, it’s best to call your local location to confirm if it’s serving the zombie-themed drink.
