This couple is taking over the internet thanks to their ‘Alien’ maternity shoot

It’s not every day that an expecting couple decides to take a geeky (and bloody?) maternity photoshoot together. But British Columbia residents Todd and Nicole Cameron are going viral after they teamed up with wedding photographer Li Carter and staged an Alien-themed encounter, complete with a Chestburster. In the first handful of photos, Nicole and Todd pose together in a pumpkin patch in a loving embrace. That is, until Nicole feels uncomfortable and brings her hands to her stomach. After she lies down, a Chestburster—aka a bloody, intestinal-looking alien—pops out of her pregnant belly, which Todd chases around before embracing it. Eventually, the three come together, covered in blood, as Nicole and Todd kiss their new “child” and feed it milk. Total everyday stuff. The couple has...

Dad Tenderly Sings “You Are So Beautiful” To Baby Girl & Her Face Says It All.

New parents often sing non-lullaby songs to their babies, because as much as we all love the classics, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” it gets really old, really quick. (Confession: my baby fell asleep to “Across the Universe” on more than one occasion). While sharing your love of  music with your baby is fun, it’s also incredibly sweet— which is why a video of a dad singing Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” to his new daughter went viral. The video is short, but packs a seriously cute punch. In it, a dad is cradling his baby girl’s head and quietly sings the classic song’s intro. The sweet girl keeps her eyes glued on him, and looks at him with what can only be described as adoration. She never takes her gaze off her dad and even gives him a huge smile. After wrapping ...

Why Some Parents Are Using ‘No Touching’ Signs For Their Newborns

Nothing looks more irresistible than a newborn baby. They are so small, so cute and so cuddly! It’s no wonder why people just want to reach out and hold, squeeze and get their hands on the little ones. However, new parents are starting to put out a literal stop sign when it comes to visitors wanting to get close with their bundle of joy. While it may seem harmless to people wanting to show love and affection to a new baby, simply going in to hold or touch an infant can make parents feel quite uneasy. This is especially true if the visitor doesn’t ask permission before trying to make contact. Now, moms are turning to decorative signs to hang on their baby’s car seat to provide a gentle, but clear message to admirers: “Hands off the baby.” Earlier this year, a parenting social medi...

These Families Tried To Show Off Their Babies And The Results Are Not What You’d Expect

Most new parents can’t take their eyes off of their baby, and who can blame them? A baby’s smile can be one of the most heartwarming things in the world, so it’s no surprise that people like to set up a little photoshoot of their latest offspring to show off their sweet face! On the other hand, babies aren’t ALWAYS that cute. They fuss, they cry, and they produce very stinky diapers. Therefore they don’t always make the best models, as you can see in these 20 baby picture ideas gone wrong… 1. The photo on the left was probably a great source of inspiration for these parents. After all, who doesn’t love a happy dapper baby boy wearing a bow tie? The result on the right, however, doesn’t have the same effect. 2. One kid seems very relaxed about the idea of getting a younger sibl...

Baby’s Eczema Cured By Using Soap Made From Breast Milk

Natural home remedies can often be an easy and quick way to treat common ailments, and the 35-year-old Joy Evans knows this more than anyone. The mom managed to miraculously treat her baby’s eczema using her breast milk. After she tried everything to treat her son Finlay’s long-term skin ailment, which included several GP-prescribed steroid treatments, emollient creams, and over-the-counter remedies, Joy was really desperate as nothing could get rid of the itchy red patches. Finlay has been experiencing spells of eczema since he was just six months old, and he had to be covered all the time in order to stop him from scratching them. Joy is a breastfeeding peer support worker herself, and she decided to turn to alternative therapies and she made an organic soap she had read ab...

California Nurse Discovers Premature Baby She Cared for 28 Years Ago Is Now Her Colleague

There’s nothing like the bond that is created with little ones during the early days of their arrival — and neonatal intensive care nurse Vilma Wong is proving that’s true for the medical professionals who care for babies, too. The nurse, who has been working in the field for 32 years, was working a shift at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California, last month when she noticed a man in blue scrubs standing at one of the incubators. Everyone has to check in at the nurse’s station, Wong told the San Jose Mercury News, so she asked, “Who are you?” The second-year pediatric resident said his name was Brandon Seminatore — and that name was triggering a memory for Wong. .@StanfordChild NICU nurse Vilma Wong cared for Brandon Seminatore when he was a 3-pound premature ...

Consumer Reports Finds Heavy Metals In Some Baby Food

Parents, this is an important read. Here's what you need to know. It’s been a bad week for products you might keep in your kid-friendly food arsenal. Between the news that Cheerios may contain traces of a weed-killer linked to cancer, and now Consumer Reports’ recent findings of heavy metals in popular baby and toddler foods, you might have to re-think your pantry options. In a report released on Aug. 16, Consumer Reports analyzed 50 nationally-distributed packaged foods made for babies and toddlers in order to check for heavy metals, including cadmium, mercury, inorganic arsenic and lead. The test produced some concerning findings, including: “Every product had measurable levels of at least one of these heavy metals: cadmium, inorganic arsenic, or lead.” “About ...
