The 16-year-old Kate Wilson from Pennsylvania threw on some comfortable clothes after she woke up late on a Monday in order to get through her day at Honesdale High School in Pennsylvania. She chose a pretty normal outfit for any teenage high school girl: a baggy long-sleeve shirt and some leggings.
It hadn’t even come to her mind that her pretty regular outfit would cause her a lot of trouble with the school administrators, however. She shared the horrifying story of her “dress code violation” on her Facebook profile earlier this week, in which she expressed her rightful outrage and anger towards the male teachers who called her outfit “distracting”.
Kate was pulled from her class and sent to the Vice Principal of the school after a male teacher said that he was “distracted” when he saw Wilson walking up the stairs.
After many people commented that her anger was “out of context” and that it was her fault that “she didn’t play by the rules of the school”, this is what she added to her post:
Many people commended Wilson for her bravery and for speaking out against the teachers and the administrators in her school that made her feel uncomfortable.
