It’s no secret that one of the hardest parts of life is watching someone you love slowly fade away from illness or old age. Still, despite the circumstances, some of life’s best memories can be made during those times.
Kayla Hartman’s family managed to find the ‘sweet’ in a bittersweet situation, when they sang “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days)” to her sick grandpa.

Kayla posted a video of the moment to her Facebook page. In it, her family surrounds her grandfather’s bed, as they sing the song by The Judds. Her grandfather smiles and soaks in the song, and even claps for the family when the song is over. Kayla wrote,
Being able to get this video is absolutely amazing. I break down in the middle, but he loves every minute of it! Please continue to pray for us as we continue this journey keeping him as comfortable as we can.

While many would take their 15-minutes of internet fame to the bank, Kayla doesn’t seem particularly focused on capitalizing on the opportunity. She remains focused on being there with her family.
Just want to thank everyone for the kid words and prayers that I have been receiving as Big Papa is still holding on strong for us. I’m so thankful I’m able to be right by his side through all of this. God bless you all.
We have a feeling her grandfather is equally grateful that she’s able to be there with him.
