Sarah Michelle Gellar traded in her signature blonde for a new rosé hair color

Just like so many other celebrities, Sarah Michelle Gellar can’t resist the temptation of a new quarantine hair color. She traded in her Buffy blonde and joined the ranks of Elle Fanning and Dua Lipa by dyeing her hair pink—or specifically, “rosé all day,” as she dubbed it. The star’s reasoning for the at-home hair color is actually tied to her kids, which makes it even better.

“Well, because we’re still in quarantine, I had to think of a new and creative way to embarrass my children. Quaran-color!” Gellar said in an Instagram video showing off her pink hair.

She captioned Tuesday’s Instagram post with #quarancolor and #roseallday, noting “(or until it fades out).” The shade is a bright pink with depth, hence its rosé designation. Gellar didn’t give any details on how she achieved the at-home color, but we’re hoping that info comes soon because we love the transformation.

Just five days ago, Gellar hinted that she was in the mood for a quarantine hair switch-up. Except, then, she seemed to allude to a cut rather than a completely new color. When she proposed her “quaran-cut,” though, she was reminded of an old Buffy the Vampire Slayer look and thought better of it. In a throwback Thursday post, the actor shared a picture from Season 3, Episode 10, “Amends.”

“What’s funny is, I was just contemplating an at home haircut,” she captioned the post, along with #throwbackthursday. While we adore you, Buffy, this look wasn’t our favorite. And it doesn’t seem to be Gellar’s either.

Even Gellar’s former co-star David Boreanaz, who played Angel, had to comment: “Now that’s the tea,” he wrote.

We’re so glad Gellar went with her quaran-color rather than those quaran-cut bangs. She’s rarely strayed from her signature blonde hair, but we love every time she does. Maybe next time she can bring back Kathryn Merteuil’s brunette from Cruel Intentions.
