“The Wonky Donkey” Is Flying Off Shelves Thanks To Viral Video Of Giggling Scottish Granny.

Have you ever gotten overcome by a fit of the giggles?

Finding something so humorous that you literally can’t stop laughing is rare, but when it happens, it feels wonderful! Now, thanks to a Scottish grandmother named Janice Clark, the world has been introduced to a children’s book that might just give you that “can’t stop laughing” experience in just a few short sentences.

The fun began when Janice sat down to read a new children’s book to her 4-month-old grandson, Archer. Janice’s adult daughter, Fiona Clark, was secretly recording the story session, and she definitely captured more than she bargained for with the resulting video clip.

As Fiona’s camera rolled, Janice can be seen sitting with her adorable grandson on her knee, reading the book “The Wonky Donkey” by New Zealand author Craig Smith and illustrated by Katz Cowley. Within the first few lines of text, Janice has already started cracking up at the description of a three-legged donkey with various other issues that have rendered him “wonky.”

As the story goes on, the wonky donkey becomes even, well, wonkier. The adjectives used to describe the animal are all silly words on their own, but by the end of the book, they’re all strung together in an hilarious sentence that would make anybody laugh: “spunky, hanky-panky cranky stinky dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey.”

“Oh dear, how can anybody read this seriously,” Janice said in between gasping laughter. “This is going to kill me.”

After Fiona shared the video of her mum laughing over the story on her Facebook page, the clip went viral and launched Janice into internet stardom. Now, she’s started her own Facebook page, called “The Scottish Granny,” where she uploads videos of herself reading other stories too.

Thanks to Janice’s viral video, sales of “The Wonky Donkey” have also skyrocketed! It’s currently listed as the #1 best seller on Amazon.

“I’m totally amazed,” Janice stated. “I can’t believe how many people have now laughed along with me.”
