Travis Scott, or Jacques Webber, reveals who inspired him to take on the unusual stage name
The rapper’s real name is Jacques Berman Webster
Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Berman Webster II, revealed why he chose his unusual stage name and his inspiration behind the alias.

The rapper sat down to do an interview with Jimmy Fallon, a few weeks after the drop of his album Astroworld.
The late night host asked Scott right away if Travis Scott was his real name, and Scott replied saying, “My government name is Jacques Berman Webster II, I’m named after my dad.”

Fallon asked Scott why he chose this particular name as a performer, given that most other rappers often choose more eccentric names. Scott explained:
“My uncle is named Travis and Kid Cudi is one of my favorite artists of all time, his real name is Scott Mescudi. And my uncle’s friends called him Scott too, so it kind of worked out like that. So my two superheroes.”
Fallon jokingly pointed out, “So your fake name is Kid Cudi’s real name?”

During the interview, Scott also talked about his SNL performance tonight, his upcoming tour and how he used to be a thespian as a child and was even in the thespian society in high school. He revealed that Broadway continues to be a dream of his.
As a child, Scott was also a drummer and tried many other instruments as well, but gave it up after he was not getting any girls due to his craft.

Travis Scott has an 8 month old child with Kylie Jenner.
