16-Year-Old Boy Imprisoned For 4 Years For Kissing And Cuddling 13-Year-Old Girlfriend
A boy aged 16 was handed down a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence by the Turkish court for kissing and cuddling a 13-year-old girl at school.
The incident took place in the province of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast. The prosecutors refused to take the teenager’s age into account and charged him with s*xual assault. He has been identified as A.K., and his lawyers were hoping to escape punishment due to the defendant’s young age and circumstances.
The 16-year-old, however, was sentenced for kissing 13-year-old student identified with S.O.
According to reports, the two were frequently spotted kissing and cuddling on the school grounds. It all escalated, however, when another 13-year-old student named A.S. filmed them petting and posted it online for their friends to see.
According to local media, the school heads saw the video footage and they reported A.S. for filming the “inappropriate scenes”, and they reported A.K. for s*xual assault.
Four other students stood trial for sharing the images on social networks.
The four teenagers were eventually acquitted during the court case, but the 16-year-old A.K. received a four-and-a-half year prison sentence.
