When you have a highly creative job, you can’t have a run-of-the-mill proposal.
Carl Diebold of Nashville, Tennessee is an established music video director who has a lot of connections in the music industry. When the time came to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend, Kristian Bell, Carl called in a few favors in order to create a “musical journey” that she would never forget.

Carl enlisted Kristian’s friend Carrie to help him pull off the stunt of a lifetime. While Kristian and Carrie were getting their nails done, Carl called and asked them to come by the studio where he was shooting a video for the band Anthem Lights. As soon as the two ladies arrived in the darkened studio, Kristian knew something was up!

With Carrie as her guide, Kristian walked from one room to the next. In each room was a local musician waiting to serenade her with a love song. First came the singer Fleurie singing “Come Away With Me” by Nora Jones.
Next we see Sharif Iman singing John Legend’s “All Of Me,” followed by The George Twins performing “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat.

The Madison Letter was the next band to make an appearance, earnestly crooning the Bruno Mars song, “Just The Way You Are.”

Anthem Lights themselves popped up next, crooning the popular All 4 One love song, “I Swear.”

Kristian seemed extra excited to see the next artist, Andrew Ripp, playing his own original song, “When You Fall In Love.” But the best was still to come!

As Kristian and Carrie rounded the next corner, there stood Carl surrounded by beautiful white lights. With the Train song “Marry Me” playing quietly in the background, Carl and Kristian exchange a few tender words before Carl drops to one knee and makes it official.

Carl and Kristian are now married with children, and this video is a lasting memento of their engagement that is hard to top! When they say it’s the “most unique proposal ever,” we absolutely have to agree.
